The Eighteenth Miracle : The Recovery of Ali, May God be Pleased With him, by the Spit of the Prophet, God’s Blessing and Peace be Upon Him
In the invasion of Khaibar, the Prophet, God’s blessing and peace be upon him, said, ‘Tomorrow I shall give the flag to a man who loves Allah and his Messenger and he is loved by God and his Messenger and God will make us victorious at his hand’. Next morning, the Prophet called Ali but the people told him that he is ill; his eyes pained him. The Messenger of Allah asked them to call Ali. Ali was called and when he came, the prophet spit in his eyes and soon Ali was recovered. Since that day, he never complained of his eyes.
