About permissibility of weeping not wailing
1-Narrated Abdullah ibn Omar: Saad ibn Obadah became sick and the Prophet along with Abdul-Rahman ibn Awf, saad ibn Abu-Waqqas, and Abdullah ibn Masoud visited him to enquire about his health, when the Prophet came to him, he found him surrounded by his household, he asked:" has he died" they said: no. o Allah’s Messenger! The Prophet wept and when the people saw Allah’s Messenger weeping they all wept. He said: “take note! Allah does not punish the shedding of tears or the grief of the heart, but He punishes because of his or bestows His Mercy," he pointed to his tongue and added:"the deceased is punished for the wailing of his relatives over him."
